*Bursts out laughing* HEY WORLD GUESS WHAT. No really, guess. Well. Okay. Remember the [info]ouranhostclub's fanfiction contest? Yes? Well. Interestingly enough, I won. That's right. Let's hear that again: I WON (I even get a nice spiffy banner! Oh god, the bragging rights. Hah). Let us pop the champagne now! (Oh [info]lilalohari, you must be so proud of me. LOOK HOW FAR YOUR LOWLY PARTNER IN TWINCESTY CRIME WRITER/TWIN HAS GONE!). Terribly exciting, really! And thus, without further ado, I bring you the trophy fic itself (although oddly enough, though I worked hard on it, I have been a bit shy about posting this one. No reason...perhaps I thought I could have done better. Alas). Not only does this mark my uh...return to LJ (since I have been on a rather long hiatus for...a while now) it also will hopefully bring you all a nice little weekend treat (if of course, superior!omg!angst tickles your fancy).

Lately at night, Kaoru lies on his back and listens to his city suffer. )

2nd-Jun-2006 10:27 pm - When I value my youth
A claim to fame;
Here we go, another gem. This fic has taken me a few days to write out since, not only is it a rather hefty topic, but also because it was simply generally hard to give it the correct flow. So I will admit there are parts where it feels a little jerky (or maybe I'm just paranoid?) and a little, perhaps, jumbled. Sorry. I wrote this for the [info]20_inkspots theme: "Grasp" under the interpretation of its definition of "To grasp" = "To understand", not the actual hand motion. I feel horrible doing this to the twins (as you'll see) D:. Please don't hate me? Anyway, I hope you guys like this one.

Title: His Sentinel
Author: [info]takkey
Rating: PG-13 (for angst and a heavy topic)
Pairing: Hikaru/Kaoru (or vice versa. This time it works a bit either way)
Disclaimer: OKHC and the boys belong to Bisco Hatori.
The hospital room smelled like bleach and had blank walls and too bright lights that left a bitter aftertaste of chemicals and hopelessness. )
29th-May-2006 09:40 pm - When I Bring the Wonder of NYC to the Ouran Fandom
A claim to fame;
There are five (5) things you should know about this fic:

1. It is a companion piece to [info]lilalohari’s (OMGAMAZING) art piece. Worship her now.
2. It has several lines (Kaoru's instructions on Tango as you'll read) taken and occasionally altered from the movie: “Shall We Dance” staring Jennifer Lopez (I’m totally sure as long as I give credit I can do this right?)
3. The first paragraph sounds like it has nothing to do with anything but bear with it because it does set the scene – it was also part of a promise from me to show [info]lilalohari a bit of what NYC was like (since she’s never been here).
4. Yes, the title is based off of a song from Johnathan Larson's RENT entitled, "Tango: Maureen".
5. It is largely un-beta-ed.

So don’t blame (or sue) me. I’ve warned you.

Their hotel stood near the waterfront and was of considerably good stature even underneath the obvious wear and tear from years of age and bad weather. )
27th-May-2006 09:29 am - When I test my abilities to write spur of the moment
A claim to fame;
Here we go, here we go, hot off the press. It's Part 2 of "His and His". Of course, for all those who didn't read the first one, it won't really effect anything, besides the fact they do go hand in hand. Anyway. I was going to post this last night but I ended up dancing the night away with a few friends and didn't get home until morning. So (but it was fun!).

Right, right, here's the fic. Enjoy? (I hope I don't make too many people cry with this one).

Title: His and His (Part II)

This is something Kaoru knows )
24th-May-2006 04:19 pm - When I prove I can write semi-coherently even when I'm rushed and highly undercaffeinated
A claim to fame;
While (re)studying The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams in class today, not only has my admiration for this man increased, I was also suddenly struck with a prompt for writing (wonderful news, always). Thus, for those who have read The Glass Menagerie, this might make a bit more sense, but either way, I hope you’ll find this a good read. It started out as PART 2 of "His and His" but it kind of...deviated. So, now it stands alone although you'll probably find some similar, recurring themes. So go forth, comrades! :D

In the antique display cabinet next to Kaoru’s bed there were rows of scores of glass figurines. )

In other news, I lost five pounds in the past three days! Although since I gain it twice as fast, I’ll probably be back to where I started in a short while (curses).
21st-May-2006 11:47 pm - When I told you so
A claim to fame;
I told you I'd write a fic. Of course, I never promised that it'd be...super or anything. (I can't help but hope though).
